The Turner County Christian Learning Center is seeking a part-time teacher to lead Bible classes for middle school students from the Turner County Middle School.  The classes will be taught off-site of the school campus. We are looking for someone who is very knowledgeable in the Bible and has experience in teaching youth. In addition, the applicant must be energetic and be able to present material in creative ways. As the Christian Learning Center grows, more hours may be available but are not guaranteed. We are currently seeking a teacher for 6th and 7th,grade classes.

Class schedule and holidays will follow the Turner County School calendar.

 

Hours per Day:  This class meets 5 days a week for about 50 minutes per session and is taught in 9-week blocks. The specific 9-week term, whether first, second, third, or fourth, will be determined in coordination with the teacher and school.

 

Salary: Under this new format, a daily salary has not been voted on, but we will consider it based on experience. Other compensation may be considered for other duties performed outside of regular teaching and lesson preparation. We do NOT pay for annual leave, sick leave, school holidays, or whole-school testing dates.

 

 

Other Duties:

  • The teacher must keep in contact with the School Principal and Administration about testing and the school schedule.
  • The teacher will work with the school counselor to register kids for classes.
  • The teacher will attend the open house at the beginning of each school year.
  • The teacher will fill out a bi-weekly behavior report on students.
  • The teacher will be required to turn in a teaching outline on the material they will cover with each class.

 

 All applications must be returned to Jonathan Perry at First Baptist Church of Ashburn to be considered. The Board of Directors will review all applications and will notify applicants selected for an interview.
